Rare Dambusters flown cover signed by Leonard Cheshire V C
This is a rare flown cover commemorating the 617 Squadron reunion in Toronto in 1972. It was flown from Canada to RAF Scampton in Vulcan bomber XM575 and is number 17 of only 1,000 issued.
It carries the authenticated signature of one of my own personal heroes, Leonard Cheshire V.C.
Most definitely one of the greatest pilots and leaders of World War 2, he then went on to found the Cheshire Homes that care for severely disabled people at a time when there was nothing else. A truly inspirational man in both war and peacetime.
A great cover commemorating probably the most famous Squadron, signed by a truly great man, and flown in an iconic aircraft.
